16th Annual Masonry Camp
Offered by the International Masonry Institute (IMI)
Masonry Camp is a nationally recognized program created to improve communication between the design and construction industry. Over the course of a week, young designers and craftworkers take part in collaborative hands-on educational activities that explore materials, details, and design trends. Participants work in teams to provide a solution for a specific design charrette and produce a mock-up of their concept. Training instructors from the International Masonry Training and Education Foundation (IMTEF) and technical staff from IMI serve as session leaders. All costs related to this program are paid for by IMI and IMTEF as our investment in the future of good masonry design and construction. Attached is a pdf that will help paint a better picture of the program.
Candidates for Masonry Camp include both designers and masonry craftworkers. To qualify to participate, designers must be non-registered architects with 3-5 years of professional experience or newly registered as architects in 2016 or after. Masonry craftworkers must be members of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers and have 3-5 years of experience in at least one craft area. All participants must be 21 years of age or older.
